nightrythmWow! Was that ever an intense conference. We spent a full eight hours a day in meetings. I learned a lot. I bonded well.
I ended up staying at the hotel. One of the girls came through for me and let me bunk with her. I avraged 3 hours of sleep each night.
Monday: 8am start. The hour lunch, well, was a business lunch. We wrapped 5 ish, with cocktails and "team building" at 6:30. Business dinner 7:30. After dinner there was more drinking and more talking/networking/business and also frivolity. When they kicked us out of the ballroom, we moved to the bar where there was more drinking and talking, less business more bonding. We stayed around until we were kicked out so the cleaning crew could do their job. After that there was a room party.
OMG! My affiliate sales team does not know from professional. I heard some of the most in-apropriate stuff! *eep* I sat there in shock(when I wasn't participating). I actually kept pretty low-key on that front. They managed to stay away from serious doubl-entendre, dead baby jokes and nazi jokes. *wipes forehead* Thank god! There was a lot of laughing and cutting each other down.
Tuesday: 8am start. Breaks removed due to busy schedule. Lunch hour cut down to 1/2 hour due to busy schedule. Reality: 20 min. lunch due to the need of those in charge to say a few things before letting us go. *ugh!* Rest of the meeting straight through until 5:30. 6pm Cocktails & "teambuilding". Dinner 7:30, same as the night before only less business more silly and drinking and sleeping even less.
Wednesday: 7:30 start. No breaks. Finished 10:30 or so. Then said good-byes etc. Took a walk on the beach, meditated, drove home and passed out.
I am offically welcome to be part of affiliate sales 'cause I know how to party. ;-> I haven't drunk that much in a really long time. To be fair, they were pouring kind of light, but from 6pm until 12:30 (last call @ the hotel bar) I had at least eight rum & sodas and a kamikazee (with the birthday boy). And I managed not to slur my words or dance on any tables! *grin*
